I Choose Shipping

Merchant Marine Academy, Crete
IMO Goodwill Maritime Ambassador in Greece, Leonidas Dimitriadis-Evgenidis, participated in the Isalos.net initiative entitled “I Choose Shipping” which took place at the Merchant Marine Academy Crete, in Chania.
The event was attended by 300 students of the Academy, who had the opportunity to meet with representatives and crew managers of Greek shipping companies and discuss their first training trip and the challenges of the maritime profession.
The IMO Goodwill Ambassador welcomed the attendees and congratulated Isalos.net for the initiative that brought together the new generation with both the educational community and the industry. Mr. Evgenidis spoke to the students about the new developments in the maritime profession, the opportunities for personal development, the importance of acquiring knowledge and skills, and the importance of the IMO’s role in the safety of navigation and the protection of the marine environment.
