The IMO Ambassador in Greece at the WISTA Hellas Forum:
‘Shipping sustains the sustainable goals’
The IMO Ambassador in Greece, Mr. Leonidas Dimitriadis-Evgenidis participated in the WISTA Hellas Annual Forum ‘Shipping sustains the sustainable goals’, on November 20, at the Athens Hilton.
During his speech, Mr. Evgenidis highlighted the important role of Wista Hellas. He mentioned that women are an essential part of the shipping industry and that World Maritime Day 2019 is entitled “Empowering Women in the Maritime Community”.
He highlighted the opportunities offered by Blue Growth and its contribution to job growth. He referred to the IMO’s vision of sustainable development and the well-being of our people and our planet, the organization’s work as well as the Sustainable Development Goals.
Closing, Mr. Eugenides referred to the leading role of women at the Eugenides Group and the Eugenides Foundation, with the prominent figure of Marianthi Simou, sister of the national benefactor Eugene Eugenides.
