Τhe 9th Shipping Conference of Naftemporiki entitled “Shipping in Disruption” took place on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at the Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel in Vouliagmeni. The conference successfully addressed critical issues facing the shipping industry, providing valuable insights and fostering a collaborative environment for stakeholders.
The conference was also attended by the IMO’s Maritime Goodwill Ambassador to Greece, Mr. Leonidas Demetriades-Evgenides, who in his speech focused on the critical role of the IMO in global shipping, the necessity of continuous improvement of maritime education and the readiness of Greek seafarers to remain competitive in the demands of the industry and the importance of adopting innovation to enhance operational efficiency and environmental sustainability.
Also, the Maritime Ambassador referred to the vital digital transformation for the future of shipping and suggested stronger cooperation of representatives of the shipping industry, educational institutions and government bodies to promote the challenges facing shipping today.
