«I CHOOSE SHIPPING»

Another “I choose Shipping” event organized by Isalos.net took place on 29 March 2025 at the passenger ship “Anemos” of Aegean Sea Lines, at the port of Piraeus.
The purpose of the event was to bring together first-year students of the Merchant Marine Academies with representatives of the shipping community. Specifically, this event aims to inform and provide essential information on the challenges and requirements of the profession, to network and create opportunities for direct communication with representatives of companies and institutions, and to educate and prepare students for their first educational journey.
Leonidas Dimitriadis-Eugenides, IMO Maritime Goodwill Ambassador to Greece, addressed the opening of the event, stressing the importance of training and preparing young seafarers for the challenges they will face in their careers and the important role of IMO in global shipping.
The event was attended by 420 first-year students from various Merchant Marine Academies in Greece. The event included thematic discussion panels on the students’ first educational journey and the challenges of the profession.
