8th Slide2Open Shipping Finance 2025

On January 22, 2025, the 8th Slide2Open Shipping Finance 2025 took place at the Megaron Athens Concert Hall.
This leading event, themed “Shipping Concepts in Concert” this year, successfully combined panel discussions, keynote speeches, and musical performances.
The conference aimed to combine dialogue, innovation, and artistic inspiration, focusing on sustainability, decarbonization, and digitalization in the maritime sector.
The event was attended by the Goodwill Ambassador of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in Greece, Mr. Leonidas Dimitriadis-Evgenidis, who highlighted the significance of the IMO and its positive impact on global shipping.
Μία κομβική στιγμή του συνεδρίου ήταν και η ανακοίνωση της υπογραφής μνημονίου συνεργασίας μεταξύ του Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) και του Ιnstitute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) για την οποία ο κ. Δημητριάδης-Ευγενίδης ανέφερε χαρακτηριστικά “ Η συνεργασία αυτή θέτει τα θεμέλια για σημαντικές προόδους στην Ναυτική Μηχανική, την ηλεκτροδότηση, τη βιωσιμότητα και την απανθρακοποίηση».
A pivotal moment of the conference was the announcement of the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) for which Mr. Dimitriadis-Evgenidis characteristically stated, “This collaboration lays the foundation for significant advancements in maritime engineering, electrification, sustainability, and decarbonization.”
