On the occasion of the International Day for Women in Maritime, the 3rd Regional Administration of the Hellenic Coast Guard, The Region of Epirus, the Eugenides Foundation, the Magazine Naftika Chronika, the Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of Epirus and the Municipality of Ioannina co-organized the one-day conference entitled “The Road is the Sea – Prospects of the Maritime Profession” on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at the Cultural Hall “D. Chatzis” of the Municipality of Ioannina.
On the occasion of the International Day for Women in Maritime, established by the IMO, the President of the Eugenides Foundation & IMO Goodwill Maritime Ambassador Mr. Leonidas Dimitriadis-Evgenidis, participated in the one-day conference “The Road is the Sea, Prospects of the Maritime Profession ” which took place on Monday 16 May 2022 at the Municipal Theater of Corfu.
On Tuesday, May 10, the workshop “3R Boat” took place at the 1st Vocational School of Didymoteicho “Eugene Eugenides ” aiming to disseminate the results of the action plan implemented in the framework of the program “Vocational Schools: A new beginning “.
The IMO Goodwill Maritime Ambassador in Greece and President of the Eugenides Foundation Mr. Leonidas Dimitriadis-Evgenidis addressed welcome remarks at the anniversary event entitled “Coming towards the sea” on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the founding of the magazine “Naftica Chronika”.
The 20th one-day conference “I Choose Shipping” was organized by Isalos.net, on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at the premises of the Eugenides Foundation, bringing together first-year students of the Merchant Marine Academies and shipping companies, educational institutions, and organizations.
The Slide2Open Shipping Finance 2022 conference was held on March 2 & 3, 2022, with the theme “Euphoria in the Shipping World. Is it for real? ». Mr. Leonidas Dimitriadis-Evgenidis, IMO Maritime Goodwill Ambassador, participated as a speaker on the first day of the conference in the session Green Balance, on the crucial issue of trade sustainability in the current maritime development.
Mr. Leonidas Dimitriadis-Evgenidis was appointed Goodwill Maritime Ambassador of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) representing Greece, in May 2018. This year, he was re-elected and will continue his activities another two years, offering to the young men and women of our country to chance to get to know and “embrace” the maritime profession, which is linked to our history and tradition.
