The President of the Eugenides Foundation and IMO Goodwill Maritime Ambassador, Leonidas Dimitriadis-Evgenidis, addressed the Science Conference of the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations and highlighted the role and contribution of the shipping industry in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
On Wednesday, May 17, 2023, the “Choose Shipping” event anchored at the Aspropyrgos Merchant Marine Academy, where hundreds of students were informed by the leading executives of the Greek shipping industry about life at sea.
The IMO Maritime Ambassador and President of the Eugenides Foundation Leonidas Dimitriadis-Evgenidis, spoke about the holistic approach with gradual measures and the appropriate guidance in attracting and training young people in technical professions at the Economist Impact forum on the topic of the new era in professional skills.
With a warm speech from the heart, the President of the Eugenides Foundation and IMO Maritime Ambassador Leonidas Dimitriadis-Evgenidis welcomed dozens of students from the country’s Merchant Marine Academies to the auditorium of the Eugenides Foundation.
IMO Goodwill Maritime Ambassador in Greece, Leonidas Dimitriadis-Evgenidis, participated in the Isalos.net initiative entitled “I Choose Shipping” which took place at the Merchant Marine Academy Crete, in Chania.
A meaningful and lively discussion about the shipping industry took place at the “Slide2Open” Conference on the topic of re-designing strategies in the shipping industry.
On Thursday, February 9, 2023, a one-day event was held in Patras, as part of the events of the 5th Regional Administration of Hellenic Coast Guard in cooperation with Isalos.net, on the topic of “Information Activities for the Maritime Profession and the Coast Guard”.
More than 840 students of the Merchant Marine Academy in Nea Michaniona, Macedonia, and students of the 15th Vocational School of Thessaloniki encountered, discussed, and gained valuable insights from representatives of 95 shipping companies at the “I Choose Shipping” event organized by Isalos.net.
On Wednesday, October 19, 2022, the conference “New Technologies for Greener Shipping” dedicated to the new technologies of Shipping was successfully held on the celebration of World Shipping Day.
The IMO Goodwill Maritime Ambassador Mr. Dimitriadis-Evgenidis had the opportunity to discuss with the “MBA in Shipping” postgraduate students at a special event organized by the University of the Aegean, held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, in Chios, on the issues of leadership, leadership characteristics and attracting young people to maritime and shipping professions.
