The Greek Bulk Carriers

On Monday, February 10, 2025 the IMO Goodwill Maritime Ambassador in Greece and President of the Eugenides Foundation together with the Director of Naftika Chronika magazine, welcomed members of the shipping community to the official opening of the exhibition “The Greek Bulk Carriers”, organized by Isalos.net and hosted at the Eugenides Foundation.

The aim of the exhibition is to introduce the public and future seafarers to the history and evolution of Greek bulk carriers. The main points of the exhibition are their creation and evolution, the main parts and operation of these ships, the different typologies and the pioneering role of the Greeks in the management of bulk carriers.

In his speech, the Maritime Ambassador stressed that Greek shipowners manage about 25% of the world’s bulk carrier fleet and pointed out that competitiveness is earned and not given away, highlighting the importance of continuous investment and innovation.

Dozens of schools visited the exhibition and their students were guided through the world of bulk carriers. Mr. Leonidas Dimitriadis-Evgenidis, in discussion with the pupils and students of maritime schools, presented the important role of IMO in global shipping and in particular in bulk carriers.
